Description
IndiTherm is a versatile insulation made from hemp sourced in the UK, offering high-density, flexible natural fibre properties suitable for a variety of applications including roof spaces, suspended floors, and timber frame walls. Despite its flexibility, IndiTherm’s high density ensures it can be friction-fitted between structural elements, making it ideal for areas prone to slumping or requiring installation overhead. Like other natural fibre insulations, it's non-itchy and simple to handle, simplifying the installation process.
Key Benefits
- Carbon Negative: Grown hemp absorbs 15-20 tonnes of CO2 per hectare annually, and its production process consumes relatively low energy, resulting in a carbon-negative product.
- Moisture Regulation: Its vapour-permeable nature helps balance humidity levels, preventing dampness and mould while supporting healthy indoor air quality.
- Locally Produced: Sourced and manufactured within the UK, reducing the footprint associated with long-distance transportation.
- Friction Fit Ease: Its increased rigidity compared to typical flexible insulations means less slumping and easier installation between timber studs or joists.
- User-Friendly Handling: It is soft, non-itchy, and easy to manoeuvre. For safety, it is recommended that you wear a mask during fitting.
